In order to prevent manufacturers from putting electrical products into the entire European market, they have to apply for certification of multiple European countries for the same electrical products, resulting in unnecessary waste of time and money. Therefore, similar to CE certification, ENEC(European Norms Electrical Certification) came into being.
ENEC is a certification program launched by the European Commission's Electrotechnical Standardization Organization (CENELEC) to target common European standards for products that are specific to European standards, such as lighting and its components, offices and data equipment.
The ENEC logo is voluntary and can be used to replace individual marks in some European countries to indicate that the product complies with European standards. Since ENEC certification must be issued by a professionally designated third-party agency, ENEC is a trustworthy certification mark with higher value than the European mandatory CE mark based on the manufacturer's self-declaration.
The benefits of ENEC certification are obvious compared to the original certification method:
1. Complete a test and certification process to obtain the certification (ENEC) required to enter the entire European market, thus saving a lot of time and expense;
2. The ENEC logo has been extended from the EU (European Community) and
EFTA (European Free Trade Association) countries to Eastern European countries;
3. Select a certification body to obtain the required certification (ENEC), thus reducing the certification process;
4. Can choose freely among many certification
bodies;
5. A certification contract can replace the original multiple certification contracts.
