The CB certification system is a global electrical product conformity assessment system established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IECEE). The test results, namely CB report and CB certificate, can be mutually recognized in the IECEE member states.

Currently, 53 member countries (MB: Member Bodies), 81 certification bodies (NCB), and 519 CB testing laboratories (CBTL) participate in this mutual recognition system. China is an important member of the IECEE-CB system and joined the CB system in 1990.

The main goal of the CB system is to promote international trade, promote the cooperation of product certification bodies by promoting the unified coordination of national standards and international standards, and make manufacturers closer to the ideal "one test, multiple applicable, global acceptance" goal, reducing International trade barriers arising from the need to meet different certification needs in different countries.

The products covered by the CB system are products within the scope of the IEC standard recognized by the IECEE system. When more than three member states declare that they want and support a certain standard to join the CB system, the new IEC standard will be adopted by the CB system. The adopted IEC standards will be published on the CB Gazette and the IECEE website.

At present, the CB system is mainly in the field of product electrical safety and has covered electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

After applying for CB certification, CB test certificate and CB test report will be obtained. CB report and certificate must be used at the same time to be recognized.

The CB test report must be issued by a CB laboratory that has received IECEE approval for the corresponding test capability, such as Waltek; the CB test certificate must be issued by an NCB with relevant capabilities to be recognized by IECEE, such as CQC.

● the Time:
Although countries that recognize CB certificates will require manufacturers to submit applications or submit samples, they usually do not require additional testing or only a small number of tests. The purpose of the sample is to verify that the product is consistent with the originally certified NCB test product and that it has covered national differences. The processing of the entire application is mostly a part of administrative work.
Therefore, these certification applications based on CB certificates and CB reports will be given priority over other certification applications, generally 15 working days, thus shortening the certification period and certification fees.

● the Cost:
Because foreign certification bodies that accept CB do not need to full test samples, the certification fee will be greatly reduced (CB certification fee + Conversion of foreign certification fee (Direct application for foreign certification fee). CB certificate can continue to be used to convert other country certifications
